Rockbourne is set in beautiful downland within the Cranborne Chase and on the edge of the New Forest where ponies, donkeys and cattle   are free to graze.  The village, with surrounding farmland and medieval Manor Farm, has many thatched cottages which predate the 17th Century.

The thatched village pub ‘The Rose and Thistle’, a short walk away, serves excellent food and real ale.   Rockbourne Roman Villa and Museum is open from April to September.   St. Andrew’s Church, which is set on the hillside overlooking the village, is about 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Nearby is the Elizabethan Manor House at Breamore, whilst the medieval Cathedral city of Salisbury with its historic buildings, shops and restaurants is 20 minutes by car. Fly fishing is available at the well-known Rockbourne Trout Fishery.   Golf and horse riding are also within easy reach and the coast can be reached in 30 minutes.
Situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty it is in an ideal position for country walking.
