Garden Cottage is a charming New Forest dog friendly, self-catering cottage in Rockbourne, near Fordingbridge which is available all year round.
It is well situated, as it is on the edge of the National Park and also close to the borders of Dorset and Wiltshire, giving visitors easy access to the countryside and beaches of the South Coast of England.
Garden Cottage is a comfortable, fully-equipped cottage with two bedrooms, situated in the attractive downland village of Rockbourne. The cottage sleeps four, and has a front garden leading to a winterbourne stream and a fenced rear garden with immediate access to downland walks. Parking is available for three cars and dogs are welcome, although please ask before booking if you have more than one dog.

Rockbourne is set in beautiful downland within the Cranborne Chase and on the edge of the New Forest where ponies, donkeys and cattle are free to graze. The village, with surrounding farmland and medieval Manor Farm, has many thatched cottages which predate the 17th Century and the thatched village pub ‘The Rose and Thistle’,a short walk away, serves excellent food and real ale. Rockbourne Roman Villa and Museum are open from April to September. St. Andrew’s Church, which is set on the hillside overlooking the village, is about 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Nearby is the Elizabethan Manor House at Breamore, whilst the medieval Cathedral city of Salisbury with its historic buildings, shops and restaurants is 20 minutes by car.
Fly fishing is available at the well-known Rockbourne Trout Fishery. Golf and horse riding are also within easy reach and the coast can be reached in 30 minutes. Situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty it is in an ideal position for country walks.
